Irish Language and Dance Classes

All classes and ceilis are at Blessed Sacrament Church Hall, 194 Fourth Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario, K1S 2L6 unless otherwise indicated.

Monday/Dé Luain

    Language Lessons:
  • 6:00-7:00 pm Beginner Irish (1 hour)
  • 6:00-7:00 pm Advanced Beginner Irish (1 hour)
  • 7:00-8:30 pm Intermediate Irish (1.5 hours)
  • 7:00-8:30 pm Advanced Irish (1.5 hours)
    Dance Lessons:
  • Regularly held set dance classes will resume when there is sufficient demand. If a group (8 or more) wish to learn how to set dance, please feel free to contact us.
  • 7:00-8:30 pm Solo Dancing

Dates of 2018-2019 Season's classes. Please note that the the Winter term 18 classes.

  • March 2019: 4, 11, 18, 25
  • April 2019: 8, 15, 29
  • May 2019: 6, 13, 27

Monday night classes will begin on September and run until December; lessons resume on January and run until May 2019.

Ceili Dates and Upcoming Events

2019

March

  • St Patrick’s Day dinner-céilí, 16 March, doors open at 5:30PM, dinner served around 6:15, céilí to start at 8:00PM Blessed Sacrament Church Hall, 194 Forth Avenue (at Percy st.) in the Glebe. Dinner will be Irish stew or gluten-free vegan chili, and cake or fruit salad for dessert. $30 non-members, $25 members/ Students with ID, $5 children 12 and under. There will be a 50/50 raffle, door prizes, and traditional Irish soda bread, cheese and jam, as well as tea, at the end of the evening. Family-friendly event, live music, lots of dances, refreshments and cash bar. Entertainment will be provided by Ottawa Irish Dance School. No experience necessary for dancing (people will help you).  Tickets can be purchased online via Eventbrite . No tickets available at the door.

April

  • Saturday 13 April 2019, 7 PM.  Blessed Sacrament Church Hall, 194 Forth Avenue (at Percy st.) in the Glebe. Family-friendly event, live music, lots of dances, refreshments and cash bar. Tickets $10 member, $15 non-member $5 registered students, youth 12 and under free.
