Irish Language and Dance Classes

Please note that classes will start the week of January 11, 2024 and will run once a week on a day and time agreed (evenings) between the teacher and the class, until the week of May 23, 2024. There will be a total of 20 classes. January 11, 18, 25 (3); February 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 (5); March 7, 14, 21, 28 (4); April 4, 11, 18, 25 (4); and May 2, 9, 16, 23 (4).

Whether in-person classes are held, and when, will be determined between the teacher and students depending on conditions at that time. Only those registered and paid will either receive the details for in-person class, or receive permission to join the online class. Your teacher will contact you before classes begin to let you know exactly the time when classes will take place.

REGISTRATION FOR CLASSES IS NOW OPEN FOR THE WINTER 2024 TERM.

    Language Lessons:
  • Beginner/Advanced Beginner Irish (1 hour)
  • Intermediate/Advanced Irish (1 hour)
    Dance Lessons:
  • Regularly held solo dance classes will resume when we are able to be on-site.

    Ceili Dates and Upcoming Events

    2023

    • Céilís, an Irish social dances, will be held in 2024. We will continue to have live music provided by the band led by Justin Thériault. The next dates are January 21, March 10, and April 21, from 2pm to 5 pm to be held at St Brigid's Centre for the Arts (310 St Patrick Street, downstairs via entrance on Cumberland St). Street parking is available as is City of Ottawa parking garage on Murray street, just steps from St Brigid's. Céilís will be held frpm 2-5PM, children under 12 free admission.
